Like so many women with curves in Hollywood, Kelly Clarkson felt pressured to lose weight. Mind you, she would not even qualify to be called overweight but she felt that she had to look like the rest of the girls who are super skinny either because of extreme dieting or through liposuction and tummy tucks. Apparently, she yielded to the pressure and with the help of a full-scale diet and workout program (for those of you curious about her routine, she reported to Redbook, “I do cardio. I run. I strength-train using my own body weight. I don’t like free weights, because I build muscle easily.”), she dropped a massive 30 lbs of weight.
I still don’t understand why she needs to add that she has no intention of being super-skinny, because this weight loss has gone far enough already. I am reminded of a previous interview in which she reportedly said, “When people talk about my weight, I’m like, “You seem to have a problem with it; I don’t. I’m fine! I’m never trying to lose weight – or gain it. I’m just being.” If that were the case, why would she lose a whopping thirty pounds?
She adds that she wants her fans to be healthy and happy. Nicely said, but I can’t understand how can they be doing that when their idol is losing weight and telling them not to. I find this quite hypocritical.
