Plastic surgery should be part of a lifestyle
When we are making a plastic surgery decision, we are essentially trying to look more beautiful (assuming that being younger makes you more beautiful). But what is beauty really? “It is all in the eyes of the beholder,” we have been told all these days. But according to a recent study by Allure, the word “beauty” is no longer synonymous with an unattainable ideal. “Beauty embodies a lifestyle, a dedicated regimen that has increased its focus on long term care of the hair, face and body; preventive therapies; and aesthetic enhancement.” Aesthetic enhancement is another way of saying plastic/cosmetic surgery or spa treatments.
A lot of women think that if they have plastic surgery, all their problems will disappear. Jamie Lee Curtis recently criticized cosmetic surgery because she realized that it did not solve her basic problems. More men will be attracted to them (or their existing partner will be attracted even more), they will go ahead in life, and they will just feel so much better about themselves. Indeed, some of these things do happen to varying degrees, but unless plastic surgery is part of an overall makeover (including permanent lifestyle changes), nothing much will change.
For instance, let us talk about a breast augmentation procedure. If you simply have the implants, but do not learn how to have the right posture or how to stand in a way that you can show your new assets or not wear the right lingerie, it wouldn’t matter. Let us take the example of a face lift. If you do not learn how to take care of your skin and apply makeup the right way, a facelift does nothing.
So what is the message here?
Plastic surgery is merely a procedure to make a change. The rest depends on you. To be truly beautiful, you not only have to take care of your physical beauty, but also your inner beauty. If you are nasty and mean, no matter how pretty you look, not many men will be attracted to you.
