Slim is not always healthy
I am one of those people that is naturally thin. For a while when I was eating unhealthy (eating out more often, not counting my calories, not working out, etc.), my weight was just 145 lbs., which for my height of 5’8″ was quite acceptable. Now I am down to a healthier weight of 134 lbs.
That means that I tend to take life somewhat easy and not worry about my health, but it seems that research from Britain’s Medical Research Council implies that even people like me who are thin on the outside need to be careful. How am I inside? Are my internal organs surrounded by fat? Yikes! Not only that, it can be dangerous to my health.
The message here is that just because you tend not to accumulate fat and have a healthy weight, don’t overeat and stay away from fat and carbs. Plus, exercise regularly. It also helps to get tests done regularly so that your doctor can keep an eye on any sign of trouble.
