Endoscopic
breast augmentation (more commonly referred to
as The Endo Aug) is a relatively new technique
that is currently only provided by as few plastic
surgeons like Dr. Cambeiro in Las Vegas. He says,
"I provide endoscopic breast augmentations (The
Endo Aug) so that my patients can worry less about
scars and recovery, and more about the terrific
results they will see."
Although breast
augmentation is one of the most common forms of
cosmetic surgery performed in the United
States, women have many concerns when deciding to
have this
procedure. One of the largest concerns
women have is the appearance of
scars after their surgery. In the past, this
surgery was performed through incisions made
either around the areola or in the inframammary
crease. Often times, this created scars, which
detracted from the overall results.
The Endo Aug
procedure results in much fewer visible scars, and
the recovery time in many patients is less than
that in a regular produce. Endoscopic procedures
are performed with the use of an endoscope, a
tiny, lighted camera that produces images of the
area through an incision made in the armpit.
During an endoscopic
procedure, a very small incision is made in the
armpit. Then, the endoscope and surgical devices
are inserted and fed to the site. Video of what is
happening is displayed on a screen so that the
plastic surgeon can complete the procedure.
Since the surgeon is
able to see the area on which they are performing
the surgery, they are better able to place the
implant, and create a pocket that will
minimize capsular contracture and create a more
aesthetic chest. |
