Penis augmentation surgery

Procedure, costs, and results

So many men obsess over the size of their private organ (doctors even have a name for it - penile dysmorphic disorder) and some even spend money on all kinds of pills, lotions, and devices. Those who can afford it even resort to plastic surgery in a procedure that is called penile augmentation.

And what is the average size in case you are one of those men who are suffering from low self esteem due to that? It is smaller than most people think. The maximum length averages just 5.5 inches and the range is 3.7 (Oriental men) to 6.2 inches (French men).  And it is also not true that somehow the size has anything to do with how good your relationship will be.

So should you have penile augmentation surgery?

It is very tempting to undergo this surgery with the expectation that suddenly all the women in the world will turn into your slaves and you can become a super-performer in bed. In fact that is the main problem. Men have unrealistic expectations when it comes to enlarging their penises.

In a study published by Chi-Ying Li, Oliver Kayes, Phillip D. Kell, Nim Christopher, Suks Minhas, and David J. Ralph in European Urology medical journal, they find that the average increase is just about half an inch (approximately 1.3 cm).  And just one out of three men were satisfied with the results. The scientists conclude that "Division of the penile suspensory ligament or other augmentation techniques may increase penile length but usually not to a degree that satisfies the patient."

In fact the doctors go as far as to recommend that if you have a desire to be big down below, seek psychological help rather than undergo plastic surgery. Only when you have undergone counseling, should you consider surgery.  It should be a decision that you take after a lot thinking.  After all, it may cost you anywhere from $5,000 to $10,000.
